Esbjerg Fuzztival 2026

The Aftermath

We packed our video equipment, half a bottle of bourbon, a hand-made guitar by our legend of a friend KOKO, a pedalboard with our latests inventions and an IKEA bag full of pedals. Destination was Esbjerg, to attend the local stoner/psych festival Fuzztival as the first and only pedal manufacturers to officially participate as exhibitors (yay!).

Now the goal was simple: Drink some beer, meet some fuzz enthusiasts, make some friends, listen to cool music and hopefully make an impression on a few people as pedal builders. Worst case, get drunk and jam to heavy-psych music... and call this a business trip.

We were first greeted by Bo, Thomas and some local crew who immediately served us freshly brewed coffee to begin the day and won a spot in our hearts. Bo and Thomas have been organizing this festival since 2018 and they are doing an impeccable job. Thanks a lot for having us guys, it's been a total pleasure!

The first one to come by our booth was Allan, a lovely chap who's been volunteering at the festival, and who after having a go with our pedals, went home with a Piluxx Fuzz. Allan's visit kept our spirits high for what was about to unfold. We appreciate the support and enthusiasm mate!

From there on, many people came by to try Fuzz Fields, Piluxx Fuzz and our prototype stereo tape delay Cassetta. Many laughs, many smiles and lots and lots of noise in our booth kept us on our toes for the whole festival, and while we did our best to watch some of the concerts, the enthusiastic interest of people visiting kept us too busy to attend all of them.

A few very pleasant surprises were "Dope Purple" from Taiwan with an incredibly energetic presence, blending psychedelic passages influenced by -what sounded to us as- traditional Asian musical forms, with aggressive heavy stoner riffs. Lovely guys as well, they spent a long time afterwards jamming with our pedals and they seemed pleasantly surprised as well by them.

Next, "Dirt Sound Magnet" and Stavros Dzodzos, from Switzerland but a Greek descendant himself, who in fluent Greek asked Phil if he's from Greece, it was the accent that tipped him off apparently. Very interesting guy with strong sense of the sound he's looking for through his musical equipment, he quickly got his way around Fuzz Fields while playing it. Their concert was the festival's second big surprise for us. Uniquely interesting song structures, with a theatrical quality that reminds of ancient greek tragedies. Incredible guitar work from Stavros, he surely is a captivating player.

Some honorable mentions should be the Finnish "Craneium" who did a cover of Roky Erickson's "Stand for the fire demon", a personal favorite of mine, and "Child" from Australia with their up-front bluesy stoner rock. There's so many bands we missed but hopefully we'll be given the chance to correct this in the future.

An incredible moment for us, when Gary Arce from "Yawning Man" and "SoftSun" decided to try our overdrive "Nebula" live at both his gigs and was incredibly enthused by it, to the point of taking a custom unit home to California. A huge thanks to Gary and Pia for being so sweet and supporting us!

Also to conclude, a huge thanks to the following bands and people who paid us a visit, tried our pedals, shared a moment and even got a BLUE FX DEVICES home with them:

We look forward to our next visit in the cute little town of Esbjerg and Fuzztival. Till then, stick around for we will have more of these adventures in the near future!

Be well and so.. be playful!
Philip
